Every problem has a suitable solution. The specific solution and necessary steps depend on factors such as the company, product or service, and individual motivations and goals. However, successful solutions always share a focus on the end user.
In my projects, I use an iterative process based on design thinking and branded interaction design. This approach is necessary for comprehensive brand communication and an outstanding user experience.
Questions and understanding. In the initial phase of the project, I focus on comprehending the requirements and expectations of my clients. By engaging intensively with the target group, I bring together the perspectives of clients and stakeholders, gaining a clear understanding of the project brief. This thorough approach establishes a solid foundation for the rest of the project and ensures successful implementation.
Set clear goals. We make important decisions in this phase! We sort requirements and initial ideas in order to structure and focus them. We identify central problems and develop concrete, realisable solution ideas. These are recorded in a catalogue of measures and further specified. The development of representative user profiles (personas) is also part of this phase in order to better understand the goals, needs and behaviour of the target group.
Solve problems. Once the catalogue of measures has been approved in the Define phase, the next step is the design. Together with the customer, the information architecture, general appearance and other visual elements are defined step by step in an iterative process. Quick, low-cost models or prototypes are created to visualise, test and improve ideas based on feedback. The resulting “detailed design” forms the basis for the technical realisation.
Bringing designs to life. The “detailed design” is then used as the basis for implementation. This can include the creation of style guide manuals, design pattern libraries or the technical realisation of a website. Interactive prototypes are often developed in this phase and tested by real users to ensure that the proposed solutions meet user needs. Quality assurance measures and documentation are also important to ensure that the defined goals are achieved.

I create concepts, user flows, wireframes, and prototypes using Figma/Figjam. Active participation in development is crucial to improving my skills and staying up-to-date with new methods and technologies.It also provides a refreshing change from the design aspect.
When developing web apps and websites, I rely on the Vue.js ecosystem, sometimes in combination with TypeScript. For more complex projects involving multiple databases or interfaces, I confidently integrate the popular PHP web framework Laravel. This extends to Laravel Nova or Statamic in the backend or CMS area.

WebGL and WebGPU are powerful technologies for web development that enable the creation of impressive and interactive content, as well as high-quality visual effects. These technologies take interactivity and the brand experience to a new level.
Interactive 3D models and product visualisations are already a trend on the web, and more and more websites are presenting them directly in the browser.
Surely this can be automated? I often ask myself this question with a large number of processes and I have already written several batch processing programmes and automations using Python or Microsoft Power Automate that have had an incredible impact.

At my current employer DEKRA Neo GmbH, we produce a large number of e-learnings and films that are also subtitled as part of accessibility. Until recently, this was done manually: Open the film. Define speech sequences. Copy the voiceover text from the Word script and assign it to the individual sequences. A very tedious and time-consuming (stupid) job! With the help of a Python script, the voiceover texts are now extracted from a special Word script template and saved separately in individual text files. A second script automatically creates subtitles in VTT format using the “force alignment” method. An enormous time saving!
